The Associate Director of Research Safety NEIDL High Containment (ADRS-HC) is responsible for the oversight of safety in the BSL-3 and ABSL-3 facility in the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL). The ADRS- HC reports to the Chief Safety Officer (CSO) and is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and verification of safety programs in the BSL-3 and ABSL-3 designed to comply with regulatory requirements and standards, safe guard of the laboratory facility, its support personnel and the environment from hazardous materials; ensure the safety and security of the select agents; and check to verify that necessary safety training is maintained for competency of personnel who access and work in the BSL-3 and ABSL-3 containment facility. The ADRS- HC also acts as an Alternate Responsible Official and assists the Responsible Official in the implementation of the Select Agent program.
